President’s Message
Being born and raised in Breckinridge County has always been a source of pride for me. Serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce board is a way I can give a little back to the extended community that gave me a great start to life. I work today as the Engineering and Optimization Manager at Domtar, but I grew up on a farm in Hudson on the far southern end of the county. I share values that are important to this community and firmly believe that whatever successes I’ve had in my life can be traced back to my start here. My family lives in the Rough River Lake area and enjoys everything that the lake and the surrounding area has to offer.
We have a great, energetic board of directors that are all committed to helping Greater Breckinridge County reach its potential. These volunteers dedicate much of their time to developing ideas, both old and new, so that we can make sure Breckinridge County remains a showcase for our citizens and visitors to enjoy. Our local businesses, both large and small, can provide virtually any product a person might need.
Two historic towns, Cloverport in the west and Irvington in the east, welcome visitors coming into the county on U.S. 60, the county’s main thoroughfare. The county seat, Hardinsburg, sits on U.S. 60 near the geographic center of the county. For recreation, visit Rough River Lake at the county’s southern border or the Yellowbank Wildlife Management Area and Ohio River at the county’s northern border.
There’s something for everyone to see and do in Breckinridge County. If you’re not already here, come see us and you may just decide to stay!
Sincerely,
Kevin Lucas
